Honourable Charles Sousa, Minister of Labour
On the anniversary of the tragic event last year that took four lives and left another man seriously injured, I want to express my sympathies to the families and friends profoundly affected by the loss and suffering. At a time of year when most families gather in celebration of the season, this Christmas will mark a time of great sorrow in the homes of these families. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
In honour of those men – and for all Ontario workers and their families – our government is working diligently to make workplaces safer. The Tony Dean Report, released last week, is another major step towards our goal of eliminating these incidents all together. As the Minister of Labour in Ontario, I will make occupational safety and prevention a top priority in 2011.
Honourable Charles Sousa
Minister of Labour
