Pupatello Congratulates Bombardier Aerospace
Statement From Minister Sandra Pupatello Congratulating Bombardier Aerospace Canada
December 10, 2010
Minister Sandra Pupatello issued the following statement regarding Bombardier Aerospace’s agreement with India’s SpiceJet Airline to provide them with 15 Q400 NextGen turboprop aircrafts:
“I’d like to thank India’s SpiceJet Airline for its strong vote of confidence in Ontario’s aerospace sector.
SpiceJet is one of India’s most profitable airlines. Their announcement follows Premier McGuinty’s December 2009 Trade Mission to India – and a September 2010 meeting in Ontario between the Premier and SpiceJet Airline.
Bombardier Aerospace’s international reputation – in particular the skill and expertise of their workers – is helping attract more business to our province and is providing hard-working Ontarians with good-quality jobs here at home.
Ontario’s growing aerospace sector employs 19,000 highly-skilled Ontarians in more than 200 companies, with annual sales exceeding $4 billion. And almost 60 per cent of all new large aircraft landing gear is made in Ontario.”
