Inquest Following Deaths Of Four Seniors Following Fire At Muskoka Heights
Inquest Into The Deaths Of Vera Blain, Genneth Dyment, Hugh Fleming And Robert McLean Announced

Dr. Andrew McCallum, Chief Coroner for Ontario, today announced that an inquest will be held into the deaths of Vera Blain, Genneth Dyment, Hugh Fleming and Robert McLean.
These four individuals died following a fire that occurred on January 19, 2009, at the Muskoka Heights Retirement Residence in Orillia.
The inquest will focus on fire safety in retirement homes. The inquest jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
Dr. Dirk Huyer, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Guelph Office, will preside as inquest coroner.
