Drugs and Firearms Seized by Drug Enforcement Teams

THUNDER BAY, ON – On December 16th, 2010 Drug Enforcement officers attended the Thunder Bay International Airport in relation to a drug investigation. Officers arrested two adult females (sisters) who were attempting to smuggle oxycodone to the Weagamow First Nation. Seized was approximately $ 28,000 worth of oxycodone pills (street value on Weagamow First Nation). Both females were released and will appear before the courts in Thunder Bay on February 11th, 2011.
Charged are:
Samantha CHIKANE (21 years of age) of Weagamow with;
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purposes of Trafficking
- Trafficking in Oxycodone
Eleanor CHIKANE (18 year of age) of Weagamow with;
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purposes of Trafficking
- Trafficking in Oxycodone

THUNDER BAY, ON – On December 17th, 2010 Drug Enforcement officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at an address on the 600 block of Hargrave Street in Thunder Bay. Officers arrested one adult male and one adult female who were home at the time the warrant was executed. A second adult male was arrested at another location a short time later. Officers seized approximately $1,000 worth of oxycodone pills, $ 6,500 Canadian Currency, 4 firearms and a pill cutter. All three accused were released and will appear before the courts in Thunder Bay on February 18th, 2011.
Charged are:
Felix SINOWAY (54 years of age) of Thunder Bay with;
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purposes of Trafficking
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Cory MILLER (32 years of age) of Thunder Bay with;
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purposes of Trafficking
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Samantha NODIN (25 years of age) of Thunder Bay with;
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purposes of Trafficking
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
The Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit consists of members from The O.P.P.- Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, The Thunder Bay Police Service, The R.C.M.P., The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and The Anishinabek Police Service.
