Police Assist Female in Medical Distress
Sioux Lookout, ON – December 6 2010, Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a request to assist ambulance at a local hotel for a female in medical distress.
At 12:47 police learned that an adult female had suffered a possible drug overdose, was unresponsive and ambulance was attending another call and unable to respond. Officers from the OPP attended the scene, transferred the female to hospital where she was treated for an Oxycontin overdose.
Oxycontin is a powerful prescription medication that should only be used in accordance with a medical prescription as directed by a physician.
Anyone with information regarding illegal use/sale of prescription medications or other Controlled Drugs and Substances is asked to contact their local OPP or Crimestopper’s.
