Allouettes Complete F Trail

DUBREUILVILLE, ON – Rejean Raymond, President of the Dubreuilville Alouette Snowmobile Club, announced, with his bi-weekly snowmobile trail condition report December 28th,  that the ‘F Trail’ between Missanabie and Chapleau has been completed.  The trail’s completion comes after much diligence and effort by many volunteers and club members.

Following the great news, Alouette club member, Luc Levesque a.k.a. The Groomer Guy, had the unfortunate role of delivering some less appealing news; though the trail is done it cannot open until Mother Nature provides more cooperation in the way of snowfall as the current accumulation of precipitation is inadequate.  The Northshore is currently expecting a snow storm, it is hoped it will continue through to Dubreuilville as Environment Canada has predicted snowfall of up to 30cm for some nearby communities.

Looking back…

Spring 2010, a forester created a re-route, funded by the district; in August Luc Levesque and Rejean Raymond went out to establish a ‘Plan B’ as well.  They spent a full day in the existing trail to see what else could be done if an alternative became necessary, committed to having a trail open for the 2010/11 Snowmobile Season.

November 4th Raymond announce that all necessary permits had been received. The approach to the first bridge was completed from both sides.

Later in the month progress continued as a 36 inch culvert was put in and approximately 1.5kms of brushing was done with a bulldozer.  Work could now continue as they planned to put in an culvert 8ft high x 40ft long and working on the trail from the northern end going south.

Saturday, November 20th on their way to Missanabie by the back road more photos were snapped where the culvert had been installed, and brush had been removed.
