UPDATE: Barricaded Male in Fort Frances Residence
MALE SUSPECT IN OPP CUSTODY
Fort Frances, ON – Fort Frances OPP officers with the assistance of the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team have one male suspect in custody.
Fort Frances OPP responded to an assault at the 800 block of Scott Street involving two males at approximately 4:30 am on November 27, 2010. Upon police arrival officers determined that a male suspect had barricaded himself inside the residence. A second male was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Public safety was a priority for police as they proceeded with their investigation. The scene was contained and public safety was maintained. At approximately 4:00 pm male suspect surrendered to police without incident.
Police investigation is continuing and criminal charges are pending. The OPP would like to thank the public for their patience during this incident and appreciate the assistance of the Rainy River District Victims Services Program.
