Thunder Bay Men Charged After Kenora OPP Deploy Spike Belt

KENORA, ON – Two males from Thunder Bay have been charged with drug related offences after dealing with police early morning Sunday 12 Nov. Members of Kenora OPP deployed spike belts to stop a vehicle in the area of Essex Rd. and Beauty Bay Rd. Officers had been dealing with the vehicle on a few occasions during the evening but were unable to stop it. The two occupants who fled on foot were arrested shortly after the vehicle was stopped. 31 year old Chadwick ATWOOD and 32 year old Stephen PARR both from Thunder Bay have been charged with possession of a narcotic for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. PARR who was driving the vehicle was also charged with dangerous operation and driving while disqualified. Both ATWOOD and PARR will attend Kenora court 15 Nov. to answer to the charges.
Impaired Driver
Sunday 12 Nov. 2010 officer from Kenora detachment were conducting RIDE checks on Ninth St. N. in the City of Kenora. A vehicle stopped and the driver had shown evidence of impairment. 48 year old Stella SKEAD of Rat Portage has been charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a sample. SKEAD will attend Kenora court 03 January to answer to the charge.
Man subdued after threats made
On Saturday 13 November at 3:00 PM OPP officer from Kenora detachment attended Sioux Narrows to deal with a male who was making threats. Officers from the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine unit attended to assist with the man who had run into the bush and was aggressive towards police. The man exited the bush continuing threaten and act in a hostile manner towards officers. Police subdued the man with the conducted energy weapon at which point he was placed under arrest. 22 year old Quinton TOM of Sioux Narrows has been charged with uttering threats, assault and breaching conditions of his probation.
