TERRACE BAY, ON – Construction continues downtown Terrace Bay as the Community Revitalisation Project (CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS) continues to progress.
Old sidewalks and new are blended together. It was cost prohibitive to replace the sidewalks under the canopy so they are being widened and will then be painted with industrial concrete stain to give the look of waves.
The Lighthouse staircase being installed; this will be completed in two sections with the first already completed and the second to be done soon (Mid-November).
The large sidewalk structure marketing the plaza to vehicular traffic will be here - paving stone work to date.
Three days of signage wall construction as it goes up fairly quick. Eventually, this will be covered by a silver corrugated, galvanized siding which was chosen for its excellent lifespan of 50 years and limited maintenance. Two dibond reflective waves will be installed to give the backdrop a Lake Superior look to which existing business signs will be installed over the waves. Other improvements to the canopy include the installation of a membrane roof with gutter system.
One of the three sitting areas. The posts will be used with lattice work to create a bit of a barrier between the sitting area and the flower and bush gardens.
