Operation Christmas Child at St. Hillary
ST. Hilary School News
RED ROCK, ON – Christmas was in the air at St. Hilary’s Catholic School last Friday afternoon, Nov. 19th. Operation Christmas Child provides shoe boxes filled with lots of goodies for children between ages 2 and 14. They are shipped, this year, to Haiti, Costa Rica, Nicaragua , Uruguay, West Africa ,Guinea, and Senegal . Staff, students and several community members packed the boxes while Christmas Music played throughout the school. Everyone wore green and red to get into the Christmas spirit. Each class had a different task and nothing was left to spare when the job was done. A great spirit of giving in these difficult times was evident to all involved. Donations poured into the school and the parish church all week. Monetary donations from families and groups were given to offset the cost of shipping. After the packing party, Father Randal blessed the boxes before they were loaded into Mr. Richard’s van for transport to Thunder Bay. A group picture shows all the happy faces that participated in the Annual St. Hilary’s Christmas Packing Party.
