HORNEPAYNE, ON – October 27, 2010 The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) reported that mischief had occurred to one of two large signs which had been erected recently 20 kms north of Hornepayne on Highway 631.
The signs had been erected to raise awareness to resource users that Caribou may be observed in the area and the signs requested that any sightings be reported to MNR. Each sign depicted a large photo of a caribou. Person(s) unknown caused damage to one of the signs by firing a 12 gauge shotgun striking the sign in two locations. The two 4 ft X 8 ft signs are valued at $500.00 each.
