Gravelle and Mauro announce nearly $475,000 for TBRHSC
Ontario provides funds for expansion projects, reduced wait times
The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) will receive nearly $475,000 from the Ontario government as a result of expansion projects, and improvements on some specific ER wait times.
The province is expanding services at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre to ensure that residents of Northwestern Ontario can get better access to the quality care they need, close to home. $236,800 in additional operating funding from the Ministry of Infrastructure will go towards the Angioplasty Expansion Project and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine in the space created through a recently-completed redevelopment project.
And overall improvements in specific emergency room wait time targets at TBRHSC means that the hospital will receive $237,500 from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as part of Ontario’s Pay-for-Results program.
Investing in front line health care is part of the province’s Open Ontario Plan to provide more access to health care services and improve quality and accountability for patients.
