Global Marketplace Returning To Marathon
Will Your Christmas Gifts Change The World?
MARATHON, ON – The Global Christmas Market Place is scheduled to take place in Marathon again this year, thanks to the support of St.John’s United Church. It will take place at St. John’s on Friday evening November 12 and Saturday November 13.
The Market Place includes gift items from Ten Thousand Villages, North America’s oldest Fair Trade organization, committed to alieviating poverty and empowering women through enviromentally sustainable products. Ten Thousand Villages provides fairly traded products from around the world. Profits from these sales go directly to artisans in developing countries who make their living this way. Support the work of St. John’s United Church by stopping in for a snack at the “Fair Trade Cafe” or picking up some bake goods or local handicrafts.
