Students Enjoy Fry Bread
RED ROCK, ON – As part of their Social Studies Unit on Early Aboriginal People, the grade 5/6 class of St. Hilary’s School participated in a culinary experience of traditional Fry Bread this week.
Understanding the idea that sharing food is a large part of aboriginal culture, each student gracefully mixed up a batch of ingredients for Fry Bread to share with friends and family.
Adding to the experience of the traditional aboriginal foods, the Fry Bread was served with fresh blueberries, strawberry jam, and maple syrup. The students will certainly be looking forward to bringing this new lesson home to share with their families and make again and again!
