RED ROCK, ON – Thursday, October 21st, Candidates’ Night was held at the Recreation Centre, allowing intersted Red Rock voters to hear from those running in the 2010 Municipal Electoral race. Steven Caruthers, Judith Sobush, Sara Park, Darquise Robinson, Larry Woods and Rod (Bud) Carrier were joined by Mayor Gary Nelson who has been acclaimed to office; candidate for councillor Mic Groulx provided a letter which was read on his behalf, explaining that he could not attend due to medical issues and including his response to the 6 questions which candidates had been given in preparation for the evening.

Taking a cue from CFNO News Anchor Al Cresswell whose question to the Manitouwadge Electoral Candidates I felt had been incredibly insightful, I asked the Red Rock candidates not already on council which had attended council meetings, which are open to the public, in the past 4 years and, similarily to the answer Al had received in Manitouwadge, none of those running in Red Rock not already on council had attended any. Having said that however, I also thought it was very important for residents to know which of their electoral hopefuls had taken the time to attend the Teen Town meeting held the night prior (see http://www.OntarioNewsNorth.com/?p=19364) watch the videos for the answer to that question…
