Making Homes for Vulnerable Ontarians Safer
McGuinty Government To Consult On Fire Safety
Ontario will begin consultations on how to improve fire safety in residences for seniors, people with disabilities and other vulnerable Ontarians.
The province will seek advice from residents, their families, and organizations, including fire services, municipalities, facility owners and operators, and associations who play important roles in ensuring the safety of these individuals.
This will help the government determine what further action is needed on fire safety enhancements for these Ontarians’ homes, such as sprinklers, self-closers on doors, training, enforcement and penalties.
