Wolverines Represent in Kenora
KENORA, ON – Thursday, September 23rd, after their regular school day had ended, the Manitouwadge High School Senior Boys’ Volleyball team departed from the school, travelling with their Coach Wayne Pittman and parent volunteers who were also driving members of the team. The Wolverines’ Senior Boys V-Ball Team was headed for Kenora, ON, Northwest of Thunder Bay for the 2010 Kenora Invitation Volleyball Tourney.
During the Round Robin Tournament, teams will play 25/25 sets, with no cap receiving one point for each set win; the top team in each of 2 pools receives bye to second round of playoffs. Playoff games, which will be played today, Saturday, September 25th will be the best of 3 sets 25/25/15 needing a win by two again, no cap.
In addition to the host team St. Thomas Aquinas High School, the ‘A’ Pool included Beaver Bare Secondary School, Sir Winston Churchill High School, Whitefish Bay High School; ‘B’ Pool included the Wolverines, Dryden High School, Fort Frances High School, Red Lake High School, and Pelican Falls High School. Tournaments like this offer the kids important opportunities to compete, developing good sportsmanship, playing against teams other than the limited competition of NSSSAA (the top level of sanctioned tournaments for Juniors Boys Volleyball at MHS).
