NIPIGON DETACHMENT OPP
NIPIGON, ON – Nipigon OPP are currently investigating an incident involving the head on collision of two motor vehicles, a red Mazda and a maroon Intrepid, on Hwy 11/17 just west of the Town of Nipigon. The drivers of both vehicles have been taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre with non-life threatening injuries.
Both vehicles sustained major damage.
The highway was closed for approximately one hour while Nipigon Fire Rescue members extracted both drivers who were trapped in their respective vehicles. The highway is re-opened for both directions of traffic.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
