Man struck by train
The night of September 8th OPP were called to the CP Rail tracks in the area of Tunnel Island just before 7:00 PM. The conductor of the train reported that they had struck a male subject on the tracks. Officers attended and found a male subject had been killed as a result of being struck. Investigation is continuing into this incident, foul play is not suspected.
Traffic stop leads to drug charges being laid
September 8th OPP stopped a vehicle on highway 17A for speeding, as a result of discussions with the driver the officer checked the vehicle and located a small quantity of marijuana. 43 year old Kevin Watson of Kelowna BC was charged with Possession of a controlled substance. Watson will return to Kenora 22 Nov. 2010 to answer to the charge.
