MANITOUWADGE, ON – Tuesday, August 31st, what is often a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ experience for most golfers came as an added surprise because of the strong wind which were being tolerated by golfers enjoying a morning at the Manitouwadge Golf Course.
At 11:30 am, while in the company of Pauline Ryan, Louis Ryan and Mayor John MacEachern, Senior Club Member Earl Duplassie teed off for a HOLE IN ONE on the 3rd hole! Hut attendant Maggie Scut who was watching the foursome golf from her perch on the Clubhouse balcony could hardly believe her eyes and wasted no time calling OntarioNewsNorth.com to share the news.
Afterwards, Duplassie’s golf partners teased that they might actually be the ones due for a celebration. Club tradition is that the golfer who Aces his shot is, in the wake of the spectacular display, responsible for buying drinks for any club members in the Hut.
