Manitouwadge Cross Country Ski Club receives Local Initiatives Funding.
MANITOUWADGE, ON – The Northern Trails Ski Club has received $2,851.16 through FedNor’s Local Initiatives Program. The money was used to partnership with other grant monies to complete the Kiwissa All-Season Trail. The Superior North Community Futures Development Corporation administers the fund to create economic stability, growth, employment, and sustainable communities in Northern Ontario. The Kiwissa All-Season Trail is a 1.75 kilometer, gravel surface trail designed for walking, hiking or biking and is located at the Kiwissa Ski Center. The intent of the trail is for free public use during the snow-free season, and a groomed cross country ski trail available to Northern Trails Ski Club members during the winter months. Look for the new sign to mark the entrance to the trail from the parking lot.
The club is looking forward to another successful cross country ski season thanks to the support of the Superior North CFDC.
