Forest fire situation update
East Fire Region
September 10, 2010
Next update will be issued on Friday, September 17
There were no new fires of note between September 7 to 10.
Currently there are four fires being observed in the Cochrane District, no problems are anticipated.
The fire hazard remains low across the region.
Always practice fire safety with your campfires and shore lunches. Report forest fires using the toll-free fire reporting number: 310-FIRE (3473).

West Fire Region

Next update scheduled for September 17
The forest fire hazard remains low across the West Fire Region and no new fires were reported in recent days.
Two fires remain active the Thunder Bay District, Thunder Bay 61 and 62 are smouldering in a chip pile and wood debris pile respectively. They are being monitored and no problems are anticipated.
As September progresses, FireRanger crew members have completed or are soon completing their seasonal contracts. Many are students who have returned to colleges and universities. Preparations are also ongoing for winterizing and closing down forward fire attack bases, and caches of equipment in the far north are being picked up for overwinter warehousing.
