Drugs Seized at Thunder Bay International Airport

$12,000 in drugs seized by Thunder Bay law enforcement team
Thunder Bay, ON – On the 17th of September 2010 Drug Enforcement Offices with the assistance of members from the Thunder Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Rintala Loop, Lybster Township. Officers seized 371 grams of cannabis resin, 145 grams of marihuana, one marihuana plant and 980 dollars in Canadian currency. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately 12,000 dollars. Doug THOMPSON (66 years of age) and Audrey THOMPSON (63 years of age) of Lybster Township are charged with:
- Production of Marihuana
- Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the Purposes of Trafficking
- Possession of Cannabis Resin for the Purposes of Trafficking
On the 20th of September 2010 Drug Enforcement Officers executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Fitzgerald Street in Thunder Bay. Officers seized 246 oxycodone pills worth a street value of 2,320 dollars. Jessie MAGISKAN (47 years of age) and Andrew WILLIAMS (47 years of age) of Thunder Bay are charged with:
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purposes of Trafficking
On the 22nd of September 2010 Drug Enforcement officers attended the Thunder Bay International Airport where they intercepted a female who was traveling from Thunder Bay to the Webequie First Nation. Marcia JACOB was arrested and searched prior to boarding her flight. Officers located 54 (80 milligram) oxycodone pills concealed on her person. Police believe the drugs were destined to be sold on the community of Webequie. The street value of the drugs seized, if sold in Webequie, is approximately 20,000 dollars. Marcia JACOB (19 years of age), of Webequie, is charged with:
- Posession of Oxycodone for the Purposes of Trafficking
The Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit consists of members from The O.P.P.- Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, The Thunder Bay Police Service, The R.C.M.P., The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and The Anishinabek Police Service.
