Combined Forces Seize Drugs and Guns in Strange Township

(Thunder Bay, ON) – On the afternoon of September 8th, 2010, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers with the assistance of members from the Ontario Provincial Police-Thunder Bay Detachment and the K-9 Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Highway #588, Strange Township. Officers located indoor and outdoor marihuana grow operations on the property and seized 294 marihuana plants, 340 grams of dried marihuana and three long guns. The total street value on the drugs seized is approximately 300,000 dollars.
Biaggio TUCCI, a 49 year old male resident of Strange Township, has been charged with:
- Production of Marihuana
- Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearms
Biaggio TUCCI will appear in court in Thunder Bay on October 28th, 2010.
Police would like to remind the public that we are well into the marihuana growing season. Anyone with information on marihuana grows is encouraged to contact police or their local crime stoppers.
The Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit consists of members from The O.P.P.- Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, The Thunder Bay Police Service, The R.C.M.P., The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and The Anishinabek Police Service.
