Body Recovered from McAree Lake

Male Boater Located – Quetico Provincial Park
(Fort Frances, ON) The body of Darrell CELLERS, age 65 years of Duluth, Minnesota was recovered from the waters of McAree Lake in Quetico Provincial Park on September 11, 2010 at11:30 am.
Rainy River District OPP Detachment members along with OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit members had been searching the area since the afternoon of September 9, 2010 when it was reported that a male boater had fallen out of a canoe into McAree Lake. Investigation revealed that Mr. CELLERS had been travelling through the park when his canoe overturned during windy conditions.
A post mortem examination was conducted in Thunder Bay, Ontario on September 12, 2010. The cause of death is consistent with drowning and not suspicious in nature.
