CONSTRUCTION BLAST CAUSES DAMAGE
(HORNEPAYNE, ON.) – On September 1, 2010 at approximately 10:30 am Superior East OPP in HORNEPAYNE were dispatched to a scheduled construction blast at the corner of Third and Front Street.
A contractor was conducting blasting operations to clear some property and as a result a number of large rocks flew a distance from the site causing damage to three vehicles and broke windows and damaged a roof in buildings near the area.
There were no injuries as a result of this incident. The OPP is presently at the scene awaiting the arrival of The OPP Identification Unit and The Ministry of Labour who will be investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
