 “Honouring Our Language Traditional Pow Wow 2010”This years Pow Wow will feature Kevin Porter as the Head Male Dancer, and Chenoa Pain as the Head Female Dancer. All dancers are welcome to participate in a wide array of dance specials throughout the weekend.

Eastern Thunder Bird Child will engage everyone in song and dance as the Host

Drum, and White Frost Sobriety Drum will entertain guests as the Co-Host Drum.

Traditional Ojibway language, and language speakers will be celebrated through several fun activities that engage elders, youth, and all curious onlookers! Kids will enjoy a fun filled scavenger hunt infused with the Ojibway language and have the chance to win back to school prizes.

Traditional language speakers will have the opportunity to document their stories, messages, or comments in the language on dvd in a secure area at this years Pow Wow.

Batchewana Chief and Council invite everyone to participate in this weekend’s celebration to see, hear and learn what the Native culture is all about!

Batchewana First Nation Chief and Council are thrilled to announce this years traditional Pow Wow, “Honouring Our Language” 2010.
Festivities begin this weekend, Saturday September 4, 2010 at the Rankin Pow Wow Grounds with a grand entry at 12 noon and 7pm and a feast at 5:00 pm. The Pow Wow will continue with a grand entry at 12 noon on Sunday September 5, 2010.
