True North Hardwood Plywood Inc. pleaded guilty and was fined $1,000 for depositing material on Crown land.
Court heard that between March 1 and 25, 2010, approximately 80 truckloads of wood were placed in a gravel pit in Tomlinson Township by a contractor working on behalf of True North. True North staff had been told that they could not pile wood at that location since it is located on Crown land.
Justice of the Peace Delores Boyuk heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Cochrane, on September 9, 2010.
The Ministry of Natural Resources reminds the public that it is an offence to deposit any material on public land.
