Local Side Chase Down Ontario Cup in London
THUNDER BAY, ON – Thunder Bay Italia Juventus Soccer Club, of the Premier Soccer League of Thunder Bay (PSL), is continuing its quest for the 2010 Ontario Cup this weekend, as they travel to London, Ontario, to take on A.E.K. London FC in the quarter finals of the competition.
The game will take place tomorrow,
Saturday, August 7th, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. (EDT) at the Southdale Road Stadium, London, Ontario.
Italia Juventus is coming off a strong win in the third round of the competition, when they defeated Brampton FC 2-0, in front of a home crowd at Chapples Park, Thunder Bay. A.E.K booked their place in the quarter final against the Thunder Bay side by shutting out Toronto Celtic with a score of 4-0. A.E.K won the competition in 2008 and will have to play hard against a tough Italia Juventus team, if they are to be title winners again. The winner of the game will move on to the semi final round on in August 29th, and the loser will be eliminated.
The Ontario Cup, the Provincial Soccer Championship, is the largest competition of its kind in Canada, and is The Ontario Soccer Association’s flagship event.
