MANITOUWADGE, ON – Saturday, August 14th home based business owners, non-profit organizations and would-be yard sale hosts rented tables in the 2nd Downtown Market hosted by the Manitouwadge Business Association this summer.
A total of 14 tables were rented with a local food vendor also parking their mobile catering unit on site, these included Mary Kay Cosmestics saleswomen, The Mad Fisherman offering custom tackle and fishing supplies, baked goods, Manitouwadge Rocks! with a beautiful display of precious and semi-precious gems, Playhouse Togs offering quality handmade children’s clothing and others. “We are very pleased with results of our participation in the Markets, there were less visitors this time but we did welcome some new faces and are looking forward to participating again in September” commented Sue Matheson, Independent Sales Representatives for Mary Kay, her colleague, Independent Sales Rep. Shirley Saasto-Stopyra joined Matheson at this 2nd Market.
In spite of the wide variety of products and services being offered traffic was slower than the initial market a month prior with vendors commenting that the reduced time of 10 am – 1pm may have played a role in this as traffic seemed to be peeking just as they were packing up their wares.
A third downtown market has now been added to the MBA’s Summer schedule for 2010; it will be held in September in lieu of the Trade Show which has been cancelled for this year due to insufficient registrants
