Chartwell Reps Visit Northshore
Seniors’ Housing Information Sessions
NORTHSHORE – Unique Seniors’ Housing options were presented to Northwestern Ontario residents at information sessions in Red Rock, Terrace Bay, Manitouwadge and Marathon this week by Chartwell Marketing Managers Cherie Kok and Donnalee Morettin. In addition to the sessions which Kok and Moretting presented, they visited Seniors’ Centres, Hospitals and seniors’ residences to share details of all the options which are availailabe from short and long term residences to respite accommodations for those visiting Thunder Bay for medical reasons.
Chartwell Seniors Housing has long and short term housing and respite accommodations options to suit any need and Kok and Morettin provided education on these, emphasizing that for seniors who choose to make a home at Glacier Ridge or Chartwell Select in Thunder Bay, it is all about options, safety and independence.
Kok shared details of the Glacier Ridge Retirement Residence, situated on a picturesque property with a view of the beautiful Mount McKay; it is centrally located to downtown, just a few minutes drive to the Intercity Mall and the brand new Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre. A favourite feature of many residents at Glacier Ridge, shared Kok, is the cathedral foyer, with its impressive stone fireplace and spiral staircase. She and Morettin invited attendees to visit at their own leisure, providing those who came to the sessions with vouchers for a lunch, at either one of the residences, to see for themselves all that Chartwell Select and Glacier Ridge have to offer.
Attendees were particularly attracted to the idea that with the exception of phone and cable, fees at both Glacier Ridge and Chartwell Select are all inclusive, 3 meals per day are provided as is assistance with medications. Morettin explained that the apartments include all appliances; fridge, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave, all come with the residence while furnishings are those of the resident (because living at either place you are renting your own home). At the Manitouwadge session several attendees had previously browsed the properties and mentioned the popular exercise trail surrounding the Glacier Ridge residence, which Kok added is easily accessible to all.
At either of the Chartwell properties, seniors live the lifestyle that best suits their needs; choosing from a host of services and activities while trained staff take care of the rest. Kok emphasized that any services which potential residents already receive can be carried over seamlessly at Chartwell Select or Glacier Ridge. Many residents, shared Morettin, comment once having moved to Chartwell Select or Glacier Ridge that their only regret is not having done so sooner.
At the afternoon sessions, a delicious, light lunch was provided while at all sessions attendees had the opportunity, after presentations were complete, to have specific questions answered by the representatives. These included questions in regard to costs of respite accommodations where residents enjoy living in fully furnished apartments and Kok was proud to answer that including three meals per day, fees are very affordable ranging between $65 – $105/person per day.
The sessions wrapped up in each community with a door prize draw for a lovely gift basket and a very sincere invitation from Kok and Morettin that attendees visit Glacier Ridge and Chartwell Select to view, in person, all that the residences have to offer. Kok and Morettin also wrapped up their Northshore tour with a stop in Schreiber, though there was no formal session planned there, they were able to get information out for Shcreiber’s potential Chartwell residents.
