TERRACE BAY, ON – In preparation for the upcoming opening of the Terrace Bay Cultural Centre (tentatively scheduled for late September), a silent auction was held on Friday August 20th aimed at reducing the waste which would be going to the local landfill as a result of recent renovations.

A variety of items were sold to the public in attendance including doors, toilets, sinks, mirrors, chairs and desks.  Approximately 50 people attended the auction which also raised funds which will be put towards the  operating costs of the facility.

The Terrace Bay Cultural Centre is a stimulus project by the Municipality to renovate the building into a multi-use facility to house:

  • the Terrace Bay Public Library in the renovated north wing,
  • the Terrace Bay Seniors Activity Centre, and
  • the Michael King Hall.

For those who would like to view the newly renovated building, it is located at 13 Selkirk Ave.
