Summerfest Organizer Has Message for YOU!
The Summerfest team, volunteers from businesses and organizations throughout Marathon, held their last meeting this week. It seems that everything continues to be on track for an incredible 10 days of festivities which will kick off tomorrow with a parade (beginning at the Curling Club) and opening ceremonies at the Arena.
One message that was covered in length was that of the appreciation of the Summerfest Committee, towards the many groups which have supported their efforts including;
- The Townshp of Marathon;
- The Marathon and District Chamber of Commerce;
- The Marathon Lions Club
- The Friends of Pukaskwa & Pukaskwa park staff
- The Marathon & District Museum
and many others were named among those groups whose support was an integral part of planning the Marathon Summerfest.
DID YOU KNOW? That Marathon Summerfest has been launched & organized independantly of any major organization (including the township) in Marathon! CONGRATULATIONS! TO the volunteers of Summerfest for your vision, hard work and diligence which are finally coming to fruition!
