Rain Can’t Ruin the Summerfest Open Air Market
Thanks to Market Organizer, Ashley Riendeau, for sharing details and great photos from this event.
MARATHON, ON – Saturday, July 3rd residents from across the Northshore visited Marathon to enjoy the Summerfest Open Air Market. Hwy 627 kept crowds entertained until Noon when everything was closed down because of a huge storm which knocked out power in Marathon temporarily, and in the neighbouring community of Manitouwadge for hours.
The Funtastic Castles company, were among the vendors who re-opened at the market around 2pm once the rain finally stopped. Unfortunately, by this time, a full 2 hrs after the initial shut down many of the vendors had needed to leave; thankfully most had received more than ample traffic, to call it a worthwhile day, during the first 2 morning hours of the Market. Congratulations to Organizer Ashley Riendeau for a very successful event in spite of the unexpected downpour!
