Old Plaza Theatre Face Lift

Far left CDO Sarah Lewis, far right Mayor Richard Harvey.

NIPIGON, ON – Last week, Community Development Officer (CDO) Sarah Lewis organized a ‘painting party’ inviting all those willing and able to join her downtown on  July 7th to continue efforts to beautify on of the town’s main retail streets with the painting of the old Front Street Plaza Theatre.

Many answered the call and by the time I visited Nipigon again 2 days later, the old Plaza Theatre had certainly received a face lift.  It is hoped that improvements of this historic building will continue with painting of  the semi-circle shaped 2nd level.

Sarah wanted to thank the many volunteers who helped with stripping, painting and clean-up, including;

  • Emily Mannila
  • Carina Leale
  • Taylor Munro
  • Theresa Munro
  • Glena Clearwater
  • Bill and Gina Barnes
  • Hoss Pelletier
  • Levina Collins
  • Jim McCullough
  • Mayor Richard Harvey
  • Celeste Mannila

Congratulations to Sarah and her team on a job well done, the old theatre looks great!

The finished product is something everyone can be proud to have contributed to.
