On behalf of the government of Ontario, I applaud the Toronto Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police and all participating police forces who worked tirelessly to keep our citizens safe over the past days.These officers showed remarkable professionalism in what were often very trying circumstances.

I commend TPS Police Chief Bill Blair, OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino and their senior administrative teams for demonstrating remarkable leadership at both the G8 and G20 Summits.

Those citizens who supported police efforts at both summits deserve our appreciation.
