HUGHES OUT TO JIG UP FISHING TOURISTS FOR AMK
Ottawa – If you want to wet a line this summer then Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing should be on your short-list of destinations according to MP, Carol Hughes.
With access to cold water fisheries on two Great Lakes and thousands of lakes, rivers and streams in the area stretching from Smooth Rock Falls through Hearst out to Lake Superior; from the Chapleau Game Preserve down to the island dotted channels of Lake Huron’s north shore, there is something for everyone no matter what you hope to catch.
‘Lodges, campgrounds, hotels and trailer parks are eager to host travelers and share the rugged and inspiring beauty our area, Hughes told a packed House of Commons today. “Local stores, marinas, and guides will help you make the most of your experience while powwows, festivals, golf courses and local markets help round out the experience, making memories that will last a lifetime.”

Hughes began her statement by chronicling the excitement in the build-up to the annual Father’s Day Walleye Tournament in Dubreuiville complete with a $10,000 tagged fish and closed it with an open invitation for all to come this summer and see what makes Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing so special.
