MANITOUWADGE, ON – June 5th, 2010 – Full Belly Deli in Manitouwadge held it’s Grand Opening, welcoming hungry visitors with free popcorn, a clown, free face painting, and more.
Owner/Operator Mary Belmore’s adult daughters traveled from Calgary, Alberta to enjoy the special day with their parents; Belmore’s husband and their Grandson were also on hand to share in the festivities.
Belmore used the event to release a number of new menu items including a various styles of hamburgers, a new panzerotti, the nacho supreme, and a dish which had many people excited, the Full Belly Deli Taco Salad served in an edible bowl!
The Deli mascot was finally named; Joey Russard won this fun competition, receiving a gift certificate for a movie night. The clever 9 year old’s submission of ‘Reuben’ was chosen as most fitting for the full bellied cartoon featured on the deli’s logo.
Belmore credits many people with having assisted her in getting the delicatessen, which now employs 5 people, open and operating. Her list was to long to include in it’s entirety but included the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund’s (NOHFC) Northern Entrepreneur Program; Superior North Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) whom she said were “Absolutely amazing, I couldn’t have done this without all the support I received from Superior North CFDC”; Karen from PARO was instrumental in assisting with the financial component of my business plan “She had a lot of patience” explained Belmore; and Dave and Karen from the Township of Manitouwadge.
