Pic River to Welcome Canadian Idol Judge for Motivational Presentation

Next Friday, June 25th, Pic River is expecting a very special visitor. Farley Flex will be making a special presentation at the community’s Powwow Grounds and anticipation is growing.
Farley Flex is best known as a judge on Canadian Idol, Canada’s most viewed television show ever. As the long time manager of Canada’s most successful rapper Maestro Fresh-Wes, the team earned two Juno Awards. Recognizing the need for Urban radio in Canada, Flex joined the Milestone Radio team in their successful effort to establish, own and operate FLOW 93.5, Canada’s first Black-owned and operated radio station. His tenure at Flow 93.5 included his roles as, founding music director, VP of Business Development and radio host.
Flex’s currently activities include his role as:
• President and CEO of Plasma Management & Productions Inc. an integrated media company specializing in Music, Television and Film production.
• Co-founder of Durham International Productions Inc the producer of the Durham International Festival
• National Ambassador, UNICEF
• Vice President – Youth Deserve A Chance To Dream
• Special Advisory Council – League of Human Rights
• Board of Directors, Multicultural Council Oshawa-Durham

yet with all of this on his plate, Flex is making time to visit the Northshore.
Flex has a tremendous passion for community development Flex and has also gained international recognition as a social activist, master mentor and humanitarian. He is the 2007 recipient of the Harry Jerome Award for Entertainment and Community Service and the 2005 and 2009 recipient of the Bob Marley Community Role Model award for his work in communities and education. Flex has had two high school scholarships established in his name at Woburn Collegiate Institute in Scarborough where he grew up and Leaside High School in Toronto.
Flex’s appearance in Pic River will include a motivational presentation, question and answer period, media interviews, photo opportunities from 10am – 2pm and lunch. It is sure to be a unique opportunity you won’t want to miss!
