A Message from Canyon Country…
A Message from the organizers of Dorion’s 7th Annual Canyon Country Challenge
The 7th Annual Canyon Country Challenge is fast approaching! It takes place THIS Saturday morning, June 12th at the Dorion Community Centre in Dorion. The first races start at 10am, but be sure to be there well in advance for the registration. Although pre-registration is preferred for logistical reasons, EVERYONE IS WELCOME ON RACE DAY!
The 10 & 15 KM course is a beautiful, scenic trek through the Dorion countryside; complete with very hills which are as picturesque as they are challenging, thoroughly enjoyed by all for either or both of these reasons. Water stations are conveniently located along the route for the runners’ comfort and well-being.
A big attraction at the event is the hot meal included in the registration price. This meal is provided by Frantastics Catering in Dorion. Fran is locally famous for her homemade buns and she makes these on site! The aroma of freshly baked buns permeates the building and definitely gets appetites worked up.
This event represents different things to various participants; it is a lot of fun however it is also competitive for those who want the competition. It is open to young & old(er)!!, in between, dogs, carriages, bikes, roller blades etc. The 5 Km run is billed as a “fun run” and this is where the bikes, carriages etc. usually participate.
Come to Dorion Saturday morning, you won’t be disappointed!
Sincerely,
Marvin and Bonnie Broughton
PS. We cannot guarantee the weather but have put in our request for a beautiful day!!!
