MANITOUWADGE, ON – 4:30am yesterday, the Manitouwadge High School Wolverines Senior Badminton team, accompanied by coaches, Mr. Pittman, Mrs Jones and Mr. Fairservice, left for Stratford, Ontario where they are competing in the Ontario Federation of Secondary Schools Athletic Associations Championships. Back in Manitouwadge friends and family await their return eagerly, confident that they are representing Manitouwadge marvelously; let’s turn back the clock and re-visit their recent success in Atikokan, ON when they qualified for the provinical championships…
Wolverines Dominate at NWOSSAA Badminton Tournament

April 26th the Manitouwadge High School Badminton Team traveled to Atikokan where they competed in the Northwestern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (NWOSSAA) Championships.
A total of 20 athletes represented MHS, 9 seniors and 11 juniors. Our badminton players played exceptionally well, claiming the NWOSSAA title in both the Junior and Senior Divisions.
NWOSSA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP WINS:
Mixed Doubles
1st Cody Osiecki and Stevie Wielgosch
2nd Kaitlyn Newton and Hudson Hunter
Girls Doubles
1st Elaine Milks and Alex Clark
Boys Doubles
1st Kevin Gauthier and Taylor Klause
4th Brandon Sullivan and Matt Budgell

1st Devan Pelletier
Congratulations! to the Junior Team, all of whom played remarkably well and represented Manitouwadge admirably.
9 Seniors competed at the NWOSSAA Championships and are now at the Ontario Federation of Secondary Schools Athletic Associatons in Stratford! This is an incredible number of people to be sending to the OFSAA tournament.
