Spring Fling
Sunday May 3rd, the Nite on the Town Entertainment Series held their Spring Fling Variety Show at the Manitouwadge High School Theatre. Sunny skies outside did not deter residents from filling the seats.
Organizer Natalie Labbee was Master of Ceremonies for the event, filling any down time between acts with her usual bantor and plenty of plugs for the upcoming 2010-11 NOTTES season (visit OntarioNewsNorth.com for details of acts who will perform once the final slot has been confirmed) which is gearing up to be absolutely first class.
Artist who performed included Manitouwadge vocalist Erica Magsen accompanied by No Coincidence, Heron Bay’s Hwy 627, Marathon’s Wooley Mammoths and their spin off the Wasted Mammoths, Thunder Bay’s James Wilkinson, Carl Johnson and of course the young lady featured here, Janelle Rusard.
Just 10 years old Janelle loves to sign at the Bethany Pentacostal Assembly in Manitouwadge but had never done so outside of the church. Her biggest fans, parents Vickie, and brother Joey were in the front row to chear her on – her father was watching through teary eyes, very proud of his little girl.
More to come from the Spring Fling soon, check back throughout the day as photos and videos are posted.
Next on NOTTES scedule, the Northshore Singers, a chorus of more than 40 vocalists, will perform a broadway compilation narrated by none other than CFNO’s Al Cresswell!
Hi Karina – just a note – the Northshore Singers “Strolling Down Broadway” show is a free will donation at the door. There are no tickets being sold ahead of time…but I expect that being a Saturday evening show, that it will be a full house for sure, so people should come early for a good seat – although in our Auditorium, as I always say “every seat in the house is the best seat in the house”! Glad you enjoyed Spring Fling!
