Manitouwadge Museum opens thanks to Volunteers

MANITOUWADGE, ON – 05.17.10 The Manitouwadge Museum opened it’s doors to the public for the summer season today. 

The museum holds the most comprehensive collection of historical artifacts, documents and information pertaining to Manitouwadge currently on display and includes memorabilia from Wilroy, Geco and Hemlo mines, the Logging companies that have existed in Manitouwadge over the years and some of the logging camps from which Manitouwadge residents came, a large collection of issues of The Echo, information from parishes, schools and businesses which have helped to shape Manitouwadge, taxidermy displays, rock collections and much, much more (see link below). It is managed by the Manitouwadge Historical Society and welcomes students and other groups as well as walk-in visitors. You can visit the

Monday – Friday from 1 pm – 3 pm

don’t forget to thank the volunteers on-site, it is because of them that the museum can be open all week long. It is hoped weekends will  be added to the Manitouwadge Museum’s schedule by July.
