Canyon Country Challenge
Canyon Country Challenge around the corner
by Karina Hunter
The 7th Annual Canyon Country Challenge in Dorion is quickly approaching; June 12th at 10am, competitors will gather at the Dorion Community Centre to participate in one of three runs.
Registration for the 10 and 15 kilometer runs is $25, while the 5 kilometer run is a fundraser for the Heart and Stroke foundation so while the minimum donation is also $25, giving more is welcome and appreciated. Included in the registration package are a race t-shirt, water, a delicious hot lunch catered by Frantastics Catering and a prize.
In past years there have always been plenty of prizes to go around, that everyone received something for their efforts however, the race increases in popularity, welcoming more participants each year and organizers cannot make any promises.
Organizers Marvin & Bonnie Broughton suggested arriving early to increase your odds of receiving a prize. An online registration form (which helps organizers to estimate numbers for food and prizes) is available at http://dorionkids.wordpress.com/canyon-country-challenge/. Though registrations are accepted right up to race time!
Plan to attend the Canyon Country Challenge in Dorion for great fun, new friends and heart health! Fore more information please contact Marvin or Bonnie at 857-2314. See you there!
