Dorion’s Easter Tea
Monday, April 5 marked the 49th annual Senior’s Easter Tea in Dorion. Easter Monday would not be the same without this annual event. This year, there were approximately 50 attendees from the area including Thunder Bay, Nipigon, Red Rock and Dorion. This event provides old friends the chance to catch up on each others lives, and they look forward to getting together every year.
A delicious tea of sandwiches, fresh fruit, home baking, cheese, crackers, etc were enjoyed by everyone. Hats off to the Dorion ladies who provided the luncheon and decorated the hall with Easter flowers and spring baskets.
Entertainment was provided by Dorion pianist, Micah Pawluk. Micah, at 16, is a wonderful young musician, and recently placed first in the Lakehead Music Festival for his age group, receiving a medal for his score of 90! The seniors also were treated to a slide presentation from the Dorion Bird Festival that featured local birds.
Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the Tea: a proud tradition.
