NOMA AGM & Conference
by Karina Hunter
As the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association Annual General Meeting and Conference wraps up today, April 24th, 2010 I am left with an incredible wealth of information to share with readers of OntarioNewsNorth.com.
From the informative “Health Breaks” which included information from Joanne Berube of the Marathon Family Practice group sharing information regarding the growth and development of this successful health team to CBYD’s (Call Before You Dig) Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to the Minister’s Forum (i.e. Bear Pit) yesterday at which the Hon. Michael Gravelle, Minister Northern Development Mines and Forests; the Hon. Kathleen Wynne, Minister of Transport and the Hon. Donna Cansfield, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing welcomed input and answered many questions from Mayors and Council persons of Northwestern Ontario Municipalities the 2010 NOMA AGM & Conference covered a myriad of issues and solutions of concern to the leaders of Northwestern Ontario and you find details of it all here on OntarioNewsNorth.com in the days ahead.
As for this weekend, today I am off to Terrace Bay where the Green Tradeshow is taking place, in Manitouwadge tonight the Sno-Drifters host a Volunteer Appreciation BBQ, tomorrow in Dubreuilville is the last day of the ATV Club’s Geocache Challenge as well as ‘La Gang’ Après-Midi des Petits welcoming little ones 5-11 for an afternoon of fun in the ‘big kids’ hangout. There is plenty to do along the North shores of Superior and you will find details of it all on www.OntarioNewsNorth.com come back often!
