Snowmobile RIDE for MS-20.02.10
1st Annual Fytness Fanatik Ride for MS
by Karina Hunter
I’m absolutely thrilled to announce my plan to participate in a snowmobile ride for multiple sclerosis with Fytness Fanatik Magazine in February (20.02.10). Amanda (creator editor of FFMag) has advised me that the trails are in OFSC District 9, from what I’ve found online the Elmira Snowmobile Club, the day’s destination, is part of what is referred to as the Golden Triangle.
This is just one of many in the long list of causes which Fytness Fanatik Magazine (created by Manitouwadge bred Amanda Mayhew, now residing once again in Southern Ontario) supports by raising funds and/or awareness. Though Elmira Snowmobile Club unfortunately does not have a website, you can visit http://www.fytnessfanatik.com/ridems.htm which is where you’ll find the magazine’s info in regards to the ride. I have contacted Richard Kehoe of Ontario Snowmobiler Magazine in the hopes that he can provide me with some sponsorship in the way of a sled and assurance that the piece will make it to the pages of this awesome magazine (check it out once and you’ll be hooked). The event is co-sponsored by the Best Western Inn on the Bay, in Owen Sound, it’s a challenging 255km one way ride from Elmira – Owen Sound and touches base with me in a special way since, as many of you know, MS nearly ended my career writing as a freelance photojournalist for snowmobile and ATV magazines three & 1/2 years ago and I continue working diligently to reestablish myself as a regular contributor to, among others, Michigan Snowmobiler and OSM.
Once I’ve ironed out the main logistics of the ride, I will be looking for pledges so if you would like to sponsor me for this great event MS Society of Canada will provide charitable donation receipts, make your cheque out to them with FFMag Ride for MS in the memo and mail them to me at Box 735, Manitouwadge, ON P0T 2C0. Will continue to post information as I have it.
