Travels
I just love the North. I love my hometown of Manitouwadge to where I have returned to live as an adult, with my children. I love the towns nearby which each have their own unique qualities…
Travelling to Red Rock this week with Emeraude I couldn’t help being in awe. The fall colours were everywhere and you could almost smell winter around the corner. In Red Rock we arrived downtown to see the Beautification Committee decorating an empty lot that they have turned into a Memorial Park – so uplifting and encouraging – as they don’t have a cemetery, it’s down the highway in Nipigon. Emeraude really openened up to everyone she saw, I think it was the attitude of their community, their welcoming attitude and friendly approach just made us thrilled to be there.
The next day, I had to go to the Marina, which is right in town and reminiscent of the photos you see of East Coast communities. There were canada geese enjoying the sunshine and I couldn’t resist snapping photos of them. Later that day, after I was back on the highway, I just had to take some photos of the 17. It was beautiful and so many times I mean to do this and don’t, I didn’t want to pass it up this time. Here are some of my photos from that trip.
