First Snow
It is Sunday, October 10th 2009 and through the night snow has fallen to cover our little community (Manitouwadge, Ontario) in a blanket of white. My kids could not get outside fast enough this morning; Lloyd wanting to enjoy the fresh snow a bit with Emeraude before heading out in the bush with his Grandfather. He helped lil’ sis build a snowman though while I was in getting a carrott for its nose she tackled him. I returned outside to find them working on a snow wall which he thought she could use once he was gone as a fort.
I’m not ready for winter, I’ve spent the last week trying to get a yard sale together which is now frozen under a tarp on the front lawn (well, maybe 1/2 of it, that’s as far as I got yesterday having started when I thought I had help coming and unfortunately my friend was among other challenges, unable to stay. Bless her heart I do not think she understood the work involved when she volunteered herself). So, now I’m praying for it to melt, unsure of how I will manage it on my own but unable to go anywhere but forward… This afternoon Emeraude and I will go sliding just to clear my mind and enjoy some time with her. More photos from that later, now I must get back to writing the article for last night’s 50th Anniversary supper at Our Lady of Lourdes parish.
