Manitouwadge Mourns.
Kay Hogan passed away this weekend, after our community had lost Jamie Lee Hoban on Friday night. Two strong vibrant women, both become angels much too soon.
Tonight was Jamie’s wake. Lloyd has just returned. I wish I could have been there for him and to pay my respects to the Hoban’s but I will accompany him tomorrow (need to go by the church in the morning and will hopefully have time to go upstairs then and say a few prayers for everyone then I hope).

Jamie Lee Hoban’s funeral will be Wednesday, September 9th, 1pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

I am still trying to understand Kay is gone as well. She was awesome. Such a strong, honest woman. E’s Dad said she seemed great Saturday but then she & I had just been laughing a few weekends ago about people saying “Hi, you look great!” when you see them downtown and you’re no where near great and how annoying it was to her (me too lol). She was so honest. I never had to guess Kay’s feelings about things we spoke about, she made her opinion clear whether I liked it or not (funny thing is I don’t remember ever not liking it lol). She has a wonderful family, strong beautiful daughters (they’re grown with families of their own) and a son that she was so proud of and rightfully so. I am looking forward to going to show my respect and offer my sympathies to them as I am feeling rather guilty that I have yet to make it there. Everything after Friday just feels like such a blur. I had a chance Sunday but not being a close friend felt like I might be imposing if I went so soon…
My prayers are for these families tonight; I hope you will join me and add yours. I pray that they find peace in the memories they built with their loved ones and that the world is a much, much better place for them having been a part of it!
